Madhav Giri, PhD, Managing Director

Dr. Giri completed his PhD on Climate Change Adaptation and Vulnerability from Department of Environment and Territory, The Polytechnic University of Turin, Italy. Prior doing his PhD he completed his MSc. in Environmental Science and MA in Anthropology from Tribhuvan University, Nepal. He is seasoned professional and holds diverse experience in Environmental Safeguards, Climate Change Adaptation and Mitigation, Environmental Management Consulting and Project Management. He is research fellow of the prestigious “The Global Programme of Research on Climate Change Vulnerability, Impacts and Adaptation (PROVIA)” and was visiting fellow at International Centre for Climate Change and Development (ICCCAD) Bangladesh. As an environmental safeguards expert, he has led over 100 environmental assessment projects.

Sujesh Shrestha, Director

Mr. Shrestha completed his post-graduate degrees in Environmental Science and Anthropology from Tribhuvan University. Over the decade of his professional experience he has worked in diverse segments of environment sector; the Environmental Safeguards Assessment, Environmental Monitoring, Renewable Energy and Climate Change. Mr. Shrestha has an edge on software applications and digital tools. He has command over application such as Geographic Information System (GIS), Grid Analysis and Display System (GrADS) and Landfill Gas Emission Model (LandGEM). As an environment expert he has completed over 100 assessments. He had led preparation of detail project report for four commercial scale anaerobic digestion projects. Moreover, he also has significant experience in the carbon project design and monitoring activities.

Neelam Sharma Rijal, Director

Mr. Neelam Sharma Rijal holds post-graduate degree in Environmental Science and have more than ten years of professional experience in areas related to Environmental Safeguards, Carbon and Climate Financing. While he is also active professional on the environmental assessment projects, his career focus has remained the carbon financing. He holds in-depth understanding of the rules and procedures of prominent standards like the UNFCCC’s CDM, the Gold Standard and the Verified Carbon Standard. He has worked in at least one phase of most of the carbon projects registered from Nepal and has been actively engaging in carbon project cycle management. He is a trained professional on GRI Reporting Standards, GHG inventory and project proposal preparation for Green Climate Fund (GCF).

Prem Kumar Pokhrel, PhD, Director

Dr. Pokhrel holds PhD in Energy, Resource & Environmental Policy from Korea University and a Master’s in Energy Systems and Management from the University of Flensburg, Germany. With over 18 years of professional experience, he specializes in carbon and climate financing, renewable energy and environmental policy. Dr. Pokhrel has extensive expertise in carbon project development and management under CDM, Gold Standard and VERRA framework, along with carbon project registry management. He has contributed to national climate policies such as the Low Carbon Economic Development Strategy and NDCs. A skilled professional in GCF proposal development and accreditation processes, he bridges technical expertise with policy-level engagement to advance sustainable development initiatives.
